Online casino (iGaming) revenue remains led by Pennsylvania, but Michigan has closed much of the distance over the first five months of 2026. Sports Betting Dime said Michigan is only 5.3% behind Pennsylvania through that period, while New Jersey sits 19.7% back.
In 2025, the same comparison showed Pennsylvania further ahead, at 12% in front of Michigan and 18.9% ahead of New Jersey. Sports Betting Dime also reported that, in 2025, Michigan was 6.2% ahead of New Jersey.
The 2026 gap is narrowing, but it is not flipping month by month. Sports Betting Dime reported that Michigan has not been able to best Pennsylvania in any given month in 2026.
Sports Betting Dime pointed to Michigan’s operator shakeups as part of the catch-up. It said Hard Rock replaced SI Casino in December and has “settled into steadily producing $20 million+ a month compared to under $1 million SI was bringing in.”
The same reporting said bet365 took over for departing PokerStars in April. It added that May produced a bet365 record over $11 million in revenue for its first full month, while PokerStars was generating about $2 million a month steadily.
Taken together, Sports Betting Dime said Hard Rock and bet365 alone are driving increases of around $25-30 million in Michigan online casino revenue.
Pennsylvania’s regulator data showed iGaming strength in early 2026. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported that January 2026 iGaming casino games generated $249,301,331 in monthly gross revenue, up from $210,170,977 in January 2025 (an 18.62% increase).
PGCB broke January iGaming into $194,825,533 from slots (up 22.81% year over year) and $51,971,610 from tables (up 6.20%). It also reported iGaming poker revenue of $2,504,189, down 3.62% versus January 2025.
In Michigan, the state’s regulator reported iGaming gross receipts of $322.1 million for March 2026 and $303.4 million for April 2026. As of April 2026, Michigan’s Gaming Control Board said 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to offer iGaming and/or online sports betting, and that all 15 offer iGaming.
Sports Betting Dime’s gap numbers, paired with the regulators’ revenue snapshots, point to a continued Pennsylvania advantage even as Michigan gains momentum through May 2026. Through May 2026, Michigan is 5.3% behind Pennsylvania on iGaming revenue, with New Jersey further back at 19.7%.
