Pennsylvania’s regulated gambling market generated $569.7 million in August, down 2.2% from a year earlier, while a separate online-casino tally put the sector at its second-highest monthly result.
CDC Gaming, citing the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, reported $245.7 million in August iGaming revenue, up 6.3% year on year. Sports betting generated $39.3 million, while slot-machine revenue fell 1.3% to $213.9 million. Total tax revenue for the month was $249 million.
CrossingBroad put collective online-casino revenue at $328.6 million, its second-highest monthly result in Pennsylvania. That figure was 5.3% higher than July’s $311.9 million and 9.6% above the $291.5 million reported for August 2025.
The two online-gaming figures should be treated as separately reported measures. CrossingBroad described its $328.6 million total as gross revenue that did not account for promotional spending, while also noting that the PGCB’s adjusted gross revenue measure removes promotional dollars. The outlet separately said August revenue rose 12.7% year on year, a rate that differs from the 9.6% comparison it gave against August 2025.
The August result extended the strong start to the fiscal year after Pennsylvania online casinos produced $311.9 million in July, as we reported in August. CrossingBroad said the state’s online casinos had averaged $315.5 million a month and were up 12.9% across the first eight months of the year compared with the same period of 2025.
Online casinos generated $73.4 million in state tax revenue in August, according to CrossingBroad, along with $40 million for county grants and local-share assessments. Pennsylvania launched online casino gaming in 2019, initially licensing 10 retail casinos; Bally and Golden Nugget later obtained untethered licences.
At the operator level, Hollywood Casino at Penn National led with $109.5 million in revenue, up 8.1%. Valley Forge Casino Resort generated $93.3 million, down 4.4%, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia produced $57.3 million, up 1%.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National also led the iGaming segment with $95.4 million, an 11.6% increase. Valley Forge recorded $67.4 million, down 0.2%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia posted $39.9 million, up 9%.
Valley Forge generated $15.1 million in sports-betting revenue from a $169.3 million handle. In the retail slot market, Parx Casino led with $31.4 million in revenue, followed by Wind Creek Bethlehem at $24.6 million and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh at $22.2 million; all three reported year-on-year declines.
