Pennsylvania recorded 10,384 voluntary self-exclusion registrations in fiscal year 2025-26, an 18% increase on the 8,867 recorded a year earlier. The latest total brings the number of people who have registered for self-exclusion in the state to more than 30,000.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released its 20th annual report covering the fiscal year. CDC Gaming reported the annual increase, with the year’s total at 10,384 registrations.
The voluntary programme blocks registered participants from regulated gambling services covered by the scheme. The board regulates land-based casinos, online casino games, retail and online sports wagering, truck-stop video gaming terminals and online fantasy sports contests.
Annual registrations have increased in each of the past several reported years. They rose from 2,873 in 2021 to 4,242 in 2022, then reached 7,487 in fiscal 2023-24 before climbing to 8,867 in fiscal 2024-25.
The upward trend has continued since Pennsylvania launched online gambling in 2019, although the figures do not establish why more people are registering. Coverage of the new report said wider awareness of the self-exclusion option and the expansion of regulated online gambling may be contributing factors; it also noted that some customers may be moving from unlicensed offshore sites into regulated channels that provide formal controls.
The figures arrive as Pennsylvania’s regulated gambling sector has expanded. The board counted 18 land-based casinos, 22 online casino-game sites and 11 online sports-wagering sites during fiscal 2025-26, when total gaming revenue reached $7.05 billion and gaming tax revenue was $3.1 billion.
Pennsylvania lawmakers are also considering House Bill 2631, which would require licensed online gaming and sports-betting operators to use geospatial technology to prevent their platforms from operating within digital boundaries around schools. The measure, introduced by Representative Jason Ortitay in coordination with the board, is before the House Gaming Oversight Committee.
