PokerStars on FanDuel has rolled out a Nightly Stars leaderboard for players in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The weekly promotion awards $2,500 in tournament tickets to the top finishers, with points earned by cashing in eligible Nightly Stars events.
As covered in June, PokerStars on FanDuel had already moved through a soft launch and then a full launch after the standalone PokerStars app was phased out. Earlier in July, the daily $100 Nightly Stars tournaments were also revamped with deeper stacks, later late registration at the 400/800 blind level and bigger guarantees of $25,000 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and $22,500 on other days.
Players earn one leaderboard point for every $1 they cash in qualifying Nightly Stars tournaments. The events run Monday through Saturday at 6:40 p.m. local time, and standings can be checked in the Leaderboards section of the poker client.
The prize ladder is broad. First place gets $500 in tickets, paid as five $100 Nightly Stars tickets. Second place gets three $100 tickets, third place gets two, and fourth through ninth each receive one $100 Nightly Stars ticket.
Lower placings are paid in other ticket types. Tenth through 12th place get two $30 Sunday Shield tickets, 13th through 16th get one $30 Sunday Shield ticket, 17th and 18th get two $10 Nightly Stars Satellite tickets, 19th through 24th get one $10 satellite ticket, and places 25th through 74th get a $10 2nd Chance All In Shootout ticket. Awarded tickets generally expire after 14 days, while Nightly Stars tickets last 21 days.
The first leaderboard is already under way and runs through Aug. 29. Results then reset for the following week, Aug. 31-Sept. 5.
