Originally launched in 2022 by Joey Levy and American boxer/YouTuber Jake Paul, Betr has been one of the most recent additions to the growing online gambling market in the US, offering products across multiple states and verticals.
Betr launched its sports betting products first, before pivoting to make daily fantasy sports its main focus in the summer of 2023 when it launched Betr Picks, which is currently available in 24 states.
Now, Betr has come out with a new announcement that includes the launch of its sports betting platform in a handful of new markets, along with the launch of first Betr Casino app this year in the state of Pennsylvania.
This will make Betr Casino the 23rd official real money online casino in PA, as the operator aims to enter the highly competitive market in partnership with the Cordish Gaming Group in 2024.
Betr Continues Exploring Its Options
When Betr first launched in 2022, it seemed like the company’s focus will be on sports betting, but that all changed last year, when the company added a daily fantasy platform to its offering and rolled it out in two dozen markets across the USA.
Included in the Betr app, Betr Picks allowed the company to reach a much wider audience, as daily fantasy sports sites don’t require the kind of licensing required for online gambling apps.
At the same time, Betr continued to offer online sports betting options through its app in the likes of Massachusetts, Ohio, and Virginia, although reports show the platform remains one of the smallest sports betting operations in those states.
Now, Betr is looking for further expansion for its sports betting platform, while simultaneously launching its very first online casino and expanding into the igaming space in Pennsylvania.
New Sportsbook and Online Casino Launches in 2024
As a new year rolls around, Betr is looking to make further expansion and enter new markets in 2024. According to igamingbusiness.com, the company has already secured market access deals in Colorado, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.
Colorado and Kentucky both don’t allow for legal online casino platforms, but Betr will be launching its sports betting product in these states in 2024, with its partnership with Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) being a useful tool in penetrating these markets.
While Betr has announced it will not be looking to renew its temporary license in Massachusetts, it will be looking to launch both a sports betting and an online casino product in Pennsylvania in 2024.
These products will be launched in partnership with the Cordish Gaming Group, which operates casino resorts in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Maryland.

With the launch of Betr Casino in Pennsylvania, US online poker will remain the gaming vertical still unexplored by the fledgling company, and it will be interesting to see if their casino product does better than the sports betting platform which has lagged behind its competitors over the last couple of years.
