While it is far from the state of Nevada, Pennsylvanians don’t mind traveling thousand of miles to play at the prestigious World Series of Poker — and this year will certainly be no different, with 2023 WSOP just a couple of months away.

Every year, countless Pennsylvania players descend to play at the world’s richest poker event and they have an overwhelming record to showcase. The 2015 WSOP Main Event winner Joe McKeehen, is a resident of Pennsylvania while the runner-up of the 2017 edition also comes from PA.

For those who are unable to travel to Sin City to compete for the gold bracelets, WSOP has an online poker platform where players can have a chance of winning the coveted WSOP jewelry from the comforts of their homes.

WSOP 2023 for PA Players: Key Takeaways

  • This year’s online bracelet series on WSOP PA kicks off on June 4 and runs through to July 16.
  • Buy-ins for the online bracelet series range from $300 to $600.
  • WSOP is offering online satellites for the $10,000 buy-in WSOP 2023 Main Event for $320.
  • WSOP is running a freeroll at the end of every month giving one seat to the $10k event for free.

WSOP PA opened its doors to Pennsylvanian players in June 2021. Much like its counterpart WSOP MI, the Pennsylvania platform is ring-fenced, with players confined within the state. The Keystone State is the only active regulated online poker state that has yet to join the multi-state online poker compact.

However, Pennsylvania’s state regulator has indicated hints of joining the interstate online poker compact in the past and it is possible that by 2024 the state would have joined hands with NJ-NV-DE-MI to become the fifth state to authorize cross-border online poker shared liquidity.

Nevertheless, Pennsylvania online poker players should still be excited about the prospect of winning a gold bracelet without having to step outside of their homes. This year will be the third time WSOP PA players will be competing for online gold bracelets alongside the live series.

The online bracelet series on WSOP PA kicks off on June 4 and runs through to July 16. The bracelets are scheduled to run every Sunday at 6:30 PM PST for seven weeks in a row.

Details of the WSOP PA 2023 Online Bracelet Series

The online bracelet schedule is exactly the same as the one scheduled for players in Michigan. The number of online bracelet events is down to seven from eight, as seen last year.

Compared to last year, the buy-ins are on the lower side, starting at $300 and going up to $600. The average buy-in across the series is just over $450, with the $500 price point featuring three times; $400 two times; and one edition of $300 and $600 each.

Highlights include a $500 buy-in Bankroll Builder event on the opening day of the series. This is followed by a PKO Event on the following Sunday coming for an entry fee of $400.

On July 2, an NLHE Deepstack event is scheduled carrying a buy-in of $600 — the largest of the series followed by an affordable $300 buy-in NLHE event a week later. Finally, the series comes to an end with the traditional $500 buy-in Summer Saver on July 16.

Notable absentee in this year’s schedule is the $1000 NLHE Online Bracelet Championship event. Also omitted from the schedule is a Pot Limit Omaha event and the popular Lucky 7’s Second Chance.

There is a possibility that the officials could add the trending Mystery Bounty to this year’s schedule. The format recently made its debut on the WSOP MI platform as part of the Online Circuit series and is featured heavily in the ongoing Super Circuit series.

Qualifiers for the Online Bracelets and WSOP 2023 Main Event

Officials are expected to run satellites and qualifiers in the run-up to the online bracelet series. These are expected to run with buy-ins starting at $10 and direct satellites at $30. Players can also expect some freerolls to also run alongside the online satellites.

WSOP has already started offering online satellites for the $10,000 buy-in WSOP 2023 Main Event. These are available for $320 buy-in, offering one guaranteed seat to the prestigious event. It is not known whether the operator is spreading sub-satellites or qualifiers to the $320 buy-in direct satellite.

WSOP is also running a freeroll at the end of every month giving one seat to the $10k event for free. Expect these freerolls to continue in the run-up to the Main Event scheduled to run from July 3.
