WSOP PA will host a two-week tournament series in Pennsylvania, WINter Wonderland, over the holiday season. The series begins on December 5 and runs through December 21.
The 17-event series will have one event scheduled for every day of the series, with more than $300,000 guaranteed and additional prizes valued at $15,000. It will include progressive knockout (PKO) and pot-limit Omaha (PLO) tournaments, as well as 6- and 8-handed events, one freezeout event and three Deepstack events. Buy-ins range from a low of $55 to $215.
$1,000 seats to WSOP 2022, tournament tickets worth $215 and cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500 are on offer in the series.
The kick-off event on December 5 will have $15,000 guaranteed for a $100 buy-in, with a $500 cash prize awarded by a random draw. Two No Limit Hold’em (NLH) events, each with $215 buy-ins and $25,000 guaranteed, follow on December 6 and 7 – the former is a PKO event with a WSOP 2022 seat being awarded by random draw, while the latter will offer a $215 tournament ticket to the first place winner.
A pair of events with the low $55 buy-in comes next, on December 8 and 9. The first event, a 6-max NLH, has $5,000 guaranteed and will award $100 tournament tickets to the final six players. The second event, the aforementioned freezeout, will give a $100 cash prize to the final nine players, with $3,500 guaranteed.
The sixth event of the series, on December 10, is a PKO 8-max with $10,000 guaranteed for a $109 buy-in and $215 tournament tickets given to the final two players. A 6-max PLO event with $10,000 guaranteed for a $215 buy-in will take place the next day, with a random drawing awarding $500 in cash. Another NLH event with $10,000 guaranteed follows for just a $100 buy-in, with a $1,000 WSOP 2022 seat awarded by random draw.
The second half of the series kicks off with another PKO event, this time with $20,000 guaranteed and a $215 buy-in, is next on December 13. A $500 cash prize will be awarded via random draw. The next day a $1,000 WSOP 2022 seat will be given away, also by a random draw, at a Big Tuesday NLH event with $25,000 guaranteed and a $215 buy-in.
The final six players in the 11th event of the series – a PKO 8-max on December 15 with $10,000 guaranteed for a $109 buy-in – will receive $100 tournament tickets.
WSOP will give $200 cash through a random drawing at the next two events, on December 16 and 17. The former is a PKO turbo Deepstack 8-max event with $3,000 guaranteed and a $77 buy-in, while the latter is a turbo Deepstack with $7,500 guaranteed and a $100 buy-in. Event #14 on December 18 is a PKO with $20,000 guaranteed for a $215 buy-in. Four $215 tournament tickets will be awarded through a random draw.
The main event, with $100,000 guaranteed and a $215 buy-in, will be held on December 19. Five $1,000 WSOP 2022 seats will be awarded by random draw. The next day, a PKO with $20,000 guaranteed, also with a $215 buy-in, will also see a $1,000 WSOP 2022 seat given away through a random drawing.
The series concludes on December 21 with a NLH Deepstack event that has $10,000 guaranteed for a $100 buy-in. $500 cash will be awarded by a random draw.
Players who play in five or more events in the WINter Wonderland series will be invited to a freeroll for a WSOP Main Event seat, which is worth $10,000, at 6 pm on December 27.
Similar series are expected to be launched for players in Nevada and New Jersey. The WINter Wonderland Series will be sixth non-bracelet tournament run by WSOP PA in its short history.
